Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Early Childhood Services (ECS)

We are hiring a**Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)**to join our Early Childhood Services (ECS) team in Calgary.

In this role, you will support preschool and school-aged children within our ECS classroom programs by assessing communication needs and developing speech and language programming that supports participation, learning, and communication development. You will work collaboratively with educators, therapists, Classroom Therapy Aides (CTAs), and families to implement strategies that help children build functional communication skills in the classroom and beyond.

This role offers the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary, school-based environment where therapy and education are integrated to support each child’s Individual Program Plan (IPP).

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with educators and families and coaching teams to support children’s communication development in real-world classroom settings.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language screenings and assessments for preschool and school-aged children using formal and informal measures
• Develop and support speech and language treatment programming within ECS classroom environments
• Create and contribute to Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals and support their implementation with the classroom team
• Coach and consult with teachers, therapists, and Classroom Therapy Aides (CTAs) to support communication strategies in daily classroom routines
• Provide families with recommendations and strategies to support their child’s communication development
• Monitor and update program plans and participate in interdisciplinary team and family meetings
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support consistent communication programming across settings
• Prepare yearly assessment and treatment summary reports
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
• Provide education and training opportunities to Pacekids staff when appropriate

Position Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
• Current professional liability insurance
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Recent clearances: Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check (within the last 6 months)
• Experience supporting preschool and school-aged children with diverse developmental needs is considered an asset
• Strong communication, collaboration, and coaching skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary classroom team
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
