About the role
We are seeking an intermediate-level Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the Firm’s financial operations through detailed analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and contributing to monthly and year-end reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for turning data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, corporate credit cards, and third-party payment platforms (e.g., LawPay), investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting, preparing financial statements and related schedules.
- Analyze profitability and performance reports for practice groups and departments; assist with financial system data input and troubleshooting (e.g., Vena).
- Conduct tax-related reconciliations and prepare financial data for audit and compliance reporting.
- Support ad hoc projects such as taxable benefit allocations and partner-specific cost tracking.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentation in NetDocs.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a professional services environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Vena or ProLaw is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
