Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is an acute care hospital located in Cornwall, Ontario along the scenic St. Lawrence River. CCH provides a full range of acute inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services to a catchment area of 100,000 people from the communities of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and to the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Summary of responsibilities
The Substance Use Day/Evening Treatment program is a structured, non-residential day treatment service for individuals experiencing substance use challenges, offering scheduled daytime support. It provides both individual and group programming, including evidence-informed counselling, psychoeducational sessions, peer support, and relapse prevention planning. The program also incorporates clinical support, case management, and coordination with community resources to address a range of health and social needs.
Requirements of the job

Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma

Submission of a Letter of Lived Experience in substance use health and mental health
-
Peer mentoring skills
-
Completion of a peer training and mentorship program such as the Psychiatric Survivors of Ottawa (PSO) or equivalent organization
-
Training certifications in programs such as Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Non-violent Crisis intervention
-
Excellent people, time management and organization skills
-
Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
-
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
-
Computer skills
-
Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French) and testing completed
Assets
- College-level education in Social Work/Counselling/Social Sciences
- Demonstrated knowledge of peer support and family support community resources
