Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Accountant with payables, month-end processes, year-end audit, and reporting processes. This role involves accurately processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor files and update contact information as needed.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Assist with financial reporting tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate records in the accounting system.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist with accounts receivables and member billings as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing and organizing documents.
  • Support the accounting team with ad-hoc projects as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience with bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar skill.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork skills; ability to work towards Club objectives effectively with a diverse team.
