Position Summary:

The position of Resident Attendant will commit to incorporate our mission, vision, and our values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.

Reporting to the Life Enrichment Coordinator/Designate, the Bus Driver is responsible to drive a small group of seniors to church on Sundays. Transporting and chaperoning (as required), residents, staff and volunteers on outing including: errands, recreational programs and special events when required.

Ensure our resident’s health, comfort and safety. Ensure the effective functioning and regular maintenance of the bus. Perform other tasks, as assigned by the Life Enrichment Coordinator/Designate.

This position will:

  • Model the organizations mission, vision, and values, consistently representing Covenant professionally and positively
  • Collaborate effectively as a professional team player, supporting the achievement of Covenant’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation to outings and planned programs that enhance the mind, body and soul of our residents.
  • Ensure our resident’s health, comfort and safety
  • Conducts pre-check of bus before each scheduled trip
  • Ability to drive according to the weather conditions
  • Responsibilities the during bus trip includes; assisting residents on and off the bus, attendance completed to and from destinations to ensure all residents are accounted for, Storage of walkers and using the lift for wheelchair bound residents, strapping down wheelchairs and walkers during each trip

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta driver’s license
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Minimum 3 years of consecutive insured winter driving experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a retirement community is an asset
  • Proficiency with MS word, excel, outlook
  • CPR / First Aid Certificate

PLEASE NOTE:
Covenant Living offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package

All employees new to Covenant Living must provide a criminal record check not older than 6 months ahead of your commencement date. Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Person Screening processing is taking much longer than typical (3 to 4 weeks) and that commencing the process in advance is advisable.
