About the role
About the job: Callisto is looking for an experienced Electrical General Foreman to support the ITA2 Project at the Kearl site near Fort McKay, Alberta. Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Electrical General Foreman will provide field leadership for electrical construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for supervising electrical crews, coordinating daily work activities, supporting project schedules, and fostering a strong safety culture.
Skills and Responsibilities: Responsibilities:
Field Leadership
- Lead and supervise electrical crews performing industrial construction activities.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure crews have the tools, materials, equipment, and information required to execute work safely.
- Support project schedules by planning work fronts and monitoring productivity.
- Work closely with Superintendents, Project Management, client representatives, and other disciplines to coordinate activities.
- Mentor Journeypersons and Apprentices while promoting workforce development.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
Construction Execution
- Oversee installation of cable tray, conduit, cable, grounding systems, lighting, equipment terminations, MCCs, switchgear, and other electrical systems.
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment requirements.
- Review drawings and field documentation to support construction activities.
- Identify and resolve field issues while escalating concerns that may impact safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
- Participate in daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, and field inspections.
Safety & Quality
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all project HSSEQ requirements.
- Verify work meets project specifications, quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
- Support inspections, testing, deficiency resolution, and turnover activities.
- Encourage continuous improvement and safe work practices throughout the project.
Team Collaboration
- Build positive working relationships with supervisors, trades, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Support workforce engagement through coaching, communication, and leadership.
Your knowledge/skills, education and experience: Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
- Alberta or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
- Previous experience leading industrial electrical construction crews.
- Experience on major industrial, mining, oil sands, or heavy construction projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or foreman leadership role preferred.
- Experience working in remote camp environments is considered an asset.
Communication:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple crews and priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.

Details about the role: Location: Kearl Site, Fort McKay, Alberta Rotation: 14 days on / 7 days off, 10 hour shifts Camp: Camp accommodation and meals provided at Wapasu Transportation: Charter flights provided from Calgary or Edmonton only
