Coordinator, Learning Services - Supportive Learning Program
The Supportive Learning Program Elementary Teacher uses a strength-based approach to support students experiencing social, emotional, and mental health related challenges. The Supportive Learning Program Elementary Teacher has an inclusion mindset and uses a universal design framework and trauma sensitive approach to support student success. The Supportive Learning Program Elementary Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers to support student success in the classroom environment. In collaboration with the classroom teacher, the Supportive Learning Elementary Program teacher provides individualized curriculum learning and based on the students’ individual strengths and stretches, provides opportunities for students to develop the core competencies.
The Supportive Learning Elementary Teacher acts as case manager; developing and implementing education plans such as Individual Education Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans. This teacher enables student access to prevention and intervention related supports and services as per student social, emotional, physical, mental well-being. This teacher liaises with Learning Services personnel and outside agencies in support of students and families.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Master’s in the area of Inclusive Education preferred OR at least three courses in inclusive education in areas including social, emotional, and mental health related learning needs.
- Successful elementary level teaching experience.
- Experience using a strength-based approach and a UDL framework to enable student access to curriculum learning in the classroom environment.
- Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans, Safety Plans and Positive Behavior Support Plans.
- Current CPI training an asset.

Salary is based on TQS category and years of experience, ranging from $62,445 - $109,520 per year.
