You'll have...

Education: College Diploma or Skilled-Trade Certificate of Qualification (CoQ). (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of completion for the highest level of education attained. If the diploma/degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience:

  • 1+ years’ experience working with PLC’s and Robots.
  • Ability to read blueprints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics. Availability to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/evening) as required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Applied Science.

Experience:

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot all body equipment and evaluate systems for continuous quality and delivery improvements.
  • Substantial understanding of conveyor system programming, gantry systems, and industrial networking, including Ethernet, Profibus, and Profinet.
  • Proven problem-solving skills utilizing 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAIC/DMADV project methodologies.
  • Proficiency with automation software and controls such as TIA Portal, Step 7, Rexroth, Schneider Unity, and 840D.
  • Technical experience with laser burning, Cognex vision systems, and simulation modeling.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Practical application of Lean tools including 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping. Experience with Total Quality Management (TQM), Kaizen methods, and Visual Factory Management.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $74,000.00 - $124,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • FIS Monitoring: Analyze automation cycle times and manage project installations using Factory Information Systems software.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex PLC, robotics, and automation system malfunctions.
  • Backup Management: Maintain and update secure program backups for all automation equipment.
  • System Programming: Develop and implement programming for new machining, gantry, and conveyor installations.
  • Process Optimization: Reprogram automation systems to support engineering changes and continuous improvements.
  • Campaign Coordination: Lead and organize automation-specific maintenance and upgrade initiatives.
