Reports to: Director of Facilities and Campus Improvement
Status: Part-time, temporary (0.50 FTE) Days to be determined by supervisor; Hours 8:00PM to 4:00PM
Position Summary
The Summer Maintenance Support Worker provides general assistance to the Maintenance team in maintaining school buildings, facilities, and equipment. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone interested in gaining practical experience in building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Support
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with general building maintenance tasks
- Support basic repairs and upkeep related to carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems (under supervision)
- Help with preventative maintenance activities on equipment and facilities
General Duties
- Support summer projects and tasks such as moving furniture, materials, and equipment
- Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Assist with opening/closing duties such as checking doors, lights, and general campus readiness.
Skills, Attributes, and Qualifications
- Interest in building maintenance, trades, or facilities work
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Basic familiarity with tools and equipment is an asset but not required
Working Conditions

Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Exposure to maintenance environments and occasional construction areas

Physical work, including lifting (up to approximately 50–75 lbs with support where required)
