This Part-Time Research Assistant 2 position is based in Prof. Prof. Songrui Zhao’s research lab in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Research Supervisor, the Research Assistant 2 will assist in conducting research projects related to epitaxy, nanofabrication, and optoelectronic devices. The incumbent will contribute to research activities, data analysis, scholarly dissemination, and the support of graduate researchers working within the laboratory environment. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced research initiatives while supporting knowledge generation and dissemination within the field. Key Responsibilities Conducts research activities related to epitaxy, nanofabrication, and optoelectronic devices using established research methods, protocols, and procedures. Oversees and assists with the planning, execution, documentation, and coordination of research projects and laboratory-based studies. Recommends and implements improvements to existing research methods, processes, and analytical approaches to support project objectives. Analyzes and interprets research data and contributes to the dissemination of research findings and outcomes. Writes research reports, scientific manuscripts, conference papers, and presentation materials related to ongoing research activities. May provide technical guidance and training to research personnel and graduate students involved in research projects and related activities. Performs various administrative tasks related to the research project and may support activities associated with lower-level research assistant functions, as required. Qualifications and Experience Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Experience related to epitaxy and equipment maintenance. Experience related to nanofabrication and photonic devices. Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to research projects in an academic or research environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare scholarly publications and research dissemination materials. Proven ability to provide guidance and support to graduate researchers and research personnel.
