About the role

Wildstone is a General Contractor currently looking for 2nd - 4th Year Sheet Metal Apprentices to join our Mechanical team. Here are the types of projects we work on – Wastewater/Water Treatment Plants, Energy and institutional projects, new multi-family builds, and commercial builds.

You’ll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21/7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work 10-hour shifts on average. In this role, you’ll work independently, collaborate with skilled tradespeople, and support our Journeypersons as you continue to learn the trade. Your responsibilities include assisting with the installation of ductwork, ventilation systems, and make-up air systems.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Read and interpret blueprints/drawings, and work with specifications.

  • Assist in repairing existing air and heat ducts and exhaust hoods.

  • Fasten components using various methods.

  • Operate tools and equipment with care, making sure everything stays in great shape for the job.

  • Safety is a top priority, and you'll be expected to comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Here’s what you bring to the role:

  • You’re a registered Sheet Metal apprentice in your 3rd or 4th year with experience working on ICI projects.

  • You have a good working knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning – HVAC and follow building codes and regulations.

  • You’re dependable and a self-starter – you show up to work on time and get the job done.

  • Safety is not an afterthought – you have a history of working safely and making sure equipment is in the best working order possible.

  • You’re willing to travel to various locations in Canada.

  • You have or are willing to obtain the following tickets: Fall Protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform, Level 1 First Aid, and H2S Alive.
