Fraser Academy (FA) is an independent school in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC
serving students in Gr. 1-12 with dyslexia and language-based learning differences through day and outreach programs. We serve a gap in the system where approximately 20% of the student population is under-served by mainstream education. The ripple impact of our programming also adds great social value. While our student population has skills and strengths which are in demand in the 21st century, it can also be vulnerable to mental health, substance abuse, higher drop-out rates, and other risks when not supported.
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
**Reports to: **Director, Academics & Curriculum
Job Summary
As a member of the administrative team, you will play an important role in
supporting the school through managing, maintaining and transferring student records, including educational data and health records. This will include additional records related tasks that support the senior leaders in running the school. You will also work with the office administration team as needed and perform first aid duties alongside them. You will work with a collaborative, dynamic team of staff and educators who are passionate about the success of all learners. This role requires someone who is detail oriented, technologically savvy, able to collaborate with staff, and work compassionately with students.
Responsibilities
- Ensure student records are accurate and complete
- Manage student records requests and transfers
- Ensure records and data are ministry compliant and prepared for all reporting sessions
- Digitize archival records and support the ongoing security of student records
- Support the IEP and SPED teams with developing, collecting, tracking and compliance of relevant records
- Maintain medical records for students
- Support the first aid within the school including regularly performing first aid as needed with students and staff
- Aid the front desk team as needed with duties
- Build and maintain reports and lists for tracking, and analysis of data
- Support leadership team with records and administrative related duties

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented, organized and professional
- An active commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
- Effective communication in English (oral and written) and interpersonal skills (students, colleagues, parents)
- Is friendly and energetic
- Passion for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Has experience in a similar role
- Has some post-secondary training/education in Administration
- Has strong computer skills including word processing, data management, spreadsheets etc
- Has data analysis and report writing skills
- Occupational First Aid (training provided if needed)
- Experience working with students, particularly those with learning disabilities is an asset
- Independent school experience is an asset
