Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist Industry: Professional Services Location: Downtown Toronto Salary: $90,000 – $98,000 + Pension & Benefits Type: Full-Time Permanent Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Job Summary Our client, a well-established professional regulator, is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for managing full-cycle payroll across multiple payroll groups and serving as a liaison on payroll, remuneration, and expense matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including year-end activities, for multiple payroll cycles
- Administer payroll remittances, reconciliations, journal entries, and statutory reporting (T4s/T4As)
- Review remuneration and expense submissions, respond to stakeholder inquiries, and support audits and reporting requirements
- Partner with Finance and HR teams to enhance payroll processes and provide guidance to the Payroll Coordinator
What Makes You a Fit
- CPM or PLP designation is a MUST Completion of a 4 year post secondary degree is a MUST
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including senior-level and full-cycle/year-end payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, accounting principles, and payroll systems (Dayforce preferred)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
