About the role
As a Technical Writer Co-op student, you will be required to assist in the production of high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for the intended audience. This role works closely with various departments to translate technical concepts into accessible content.
Location: 54 Morton Avenue East, Brantford, ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Job Duties
- Assist in creating and updating documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, including user guides, service manuals, and training materials
- Work with engineers, developers, and product teams to gather information and ensure content accuracy
- Support the team in the creation and revision of hydraulic and electrical schematics using existing engineering drawings
- Conduct research on products and technologies to help maintain relevant and up-to-date documentation
- Incorporate feedback from team members to improve documentation quality and usability
- Assist in reviewing and proofreading content to ensure clarity, consistency, and correctness
Skills and Experience
- Strong written communication skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and clarity
- Ability to understand and explain technical concepts in a simple and concise manner
- Familiarity with utilizing programs such as Adobe inDesign, Paligo(CCMS), Adobe Illustrator, Corel Designer, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Composer or other documentation software
- Strong research and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment

- Wages will vary ($26 - $29 per hour), and commensurate with the number of years of your program that you have completed
- Accepting 3rd and 4th year students
- Please note there are no remote or hybrid co-op positions available
- The Brantford location is accessible by public transportation, however your own transportation is required for travel to machine test sites, other plants etc.
