As a Lead Cloud Security Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and operating innovative security solutions that safeguard RBC's cloud environments. You will focus on building automation-driven security controls, conducting proof-of-concepts for new tools, and ensuring high-quality CI/CD pipelines, all while fostering a culture of secure cloud development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS security controls using serverless architectures, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
  • Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable cloud deployments.
  • Build and operate AWS Config Rules, remediations, and other security-related infrastructure and tools.
  • Perform proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for new AWS-native, open-source, or vendor security solutions.
  • Apply SRE practices to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of cloud security solutions.
  • In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must-Haves:

  • Proficiency in Python as it is required for developing AWS cloud security solutions.
  • Strong experience with AWS services and serverless architectures (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Event Bridge).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
  • Expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or ECS.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of AWS security services (e.g., AWS Config, GuardDuty, SecurityHub, IAM).
  • Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management), DSPM, or ASPM tools.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or AWS CloudWatch.
  • Previous experience delivering production-grade cloud systems.
  • Understanding of DevOps and SRE practices in cloud environments.

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • Flexible work/life balance options
