The Network Designer will be responsible for overseeing the operational integrity of the ENMAX Corporate Network, providing technical oversight to the greater Network Operations team, and acting as a prime for project implementation & delivery. In this role you will provide advanced support in troubleshooting network outages, mentoring junior staff, and assisting in root cause analysis of incidents. The ideal candidate will work closely with project stakeholders and Security partners to implement Network Projects, ensure milestones are being achieved, and ensure the Security team is represented in new builds and upgrades where required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage complex network solutions to meet business objectives
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team of Network Analysts on network design and operational procedures
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce network policies and standards.
  • Perform network assessments for complex network projects and requests
  • Provide advanced support for troubleshooting and diagnosing network outages and connectivity issues
  • Work with internal and external customers and stakeholders to complete project deliverables, as well as identify risks & interdependencies
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Security teams to implement solutions and make recommendations for improved user experience
  • Maintain documentation of logical network and configuration standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies within the network environment
  • Ensure that network changes follow internal IT Change Management processes

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • Industry certifications (i.e. CCNA, CCNP) considered an asset

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a network support professional
  • Strong understanding of Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Datacenter technologies, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VXLAN)
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise network implementations, including SD-WAN, Firewall replacements, core networking upgrades/replacements
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking for enterprise environments (SDWAN, Azure, AWS, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Experience working with Internet/WAN service providers, integrating with WAN technologies such as MPLS L3VPN, VPLS, EVPL
  • Knowledge and experience with network monitoring solutions (e.g Solarwinds, WireShark)
  • Knowledge of network security standards, frameworks and best practices

Salary: Technical Services Analyst, Level C (Current CUPE 2025 rates)

$106,530.06 - $113,175.79 - $119,841.36 - $126,487.09 - $133,152.66

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
