As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with the BC Mobile Team, you’ll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Equipment in both a shop and field environment.

Your work will include

Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, in field environment (possibility of remote locations) Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team Qualifications: Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road) Dual Tickets will be an asset 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset Willingness to participate and complete additional training Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision Important Information: This role supports our customers throughout BC and the YK Shift is 14 x 14 A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, Fitness testing and a Clear Background check) and wear a respirator where applicable Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
