The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certified teacher who retains the responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of the students. Health Care Aide experience is considered an asset for supporting students with special medical requirements.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Educational Assistant Diploma or completion of a Health Care Aide program is an asset
-
CPR/First Aid preferred
-
some experience working with children in an organized setting preferred
-
preference will be given to those with NVCI training
-
experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset
-
ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care
