About the role

The Senior Estimator - Shoring will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate cost estimates and project proposals within the construction department. This position is based in Toronto and requires a strong understanding of shoring techniques and business services within the construction industry.

Client Details

Join a prominent, multidisciplinary construction group with nationwide operations. Their diverse portfolio spans ICI, civil construction, waterproofing, shoring, formwork, excavation, demolition, and high-rise residential developments. They are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to support their Shoring division in the Greater Toronto Area.

Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for shoring projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project proposals.
  • Analyze project requirements, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and materials.
  • Source and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and construction best practices.
  • Review and refine estimates to meet project budgets and timelines.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather essential project details.
  • Mentor and train junior team members
  • Present bid opportunities to management
  • Seek new shoring opportunities
  • Bring new clients and business to the company
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Profile

A successful Senior Estimator - Shoring should have:

  • 4+ years experience in estimating within the construction industry, particularly in shoring projects
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating project requirements.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for cost estimation and project management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working for a Shoring focused sub-trade would be considered an Asset
  • Additional experience in either Formwork or Excavation & Demolition would be an asset.

Job Offer
