Description What you’ll be doing
Organization: Ben Stelter School Fundraiser (BSSF)
Volunteer Role: Technical Solutions Specialist
Role Manager: Nathan Stinner, Director Of Technology
Role Overview: As a Technical Solutions Specialist, your job would be to help build and manage the technical tools used by the Ben Stelter School Fundraiser. This role focuses on creating scripts, building websites, and using tools like Google Apps Script to automate tasks and connect systems. You’ll work with other team members to turn ideas into working tech solutions that make fundraising and organization easier. Please note that applicants must be between grades 7-12 in the 2026-2027 school year to apply. The role duration for this role will be from April 2026 to January 2027, with the heavier times being in the earlier spring and summer months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create scripts and automations (such as Google Apps Script) to save time and reduce manual work
- Build, update, and maintain websites or web tools
- Connect Google Forms, Google Sheets, email systems, and websites so they work together smoothly
- Fix bugs and solve technical issues when they come up
- Work with directors and team members to understand what tools are needed
- Keep systems organized and easy to use
Qualifications:
- Some experience or interest in coding, scripting, or web development
- Familiarity with Google tools like Sheets and Forms
- Willingness to learn new tools and improve existing systems
Skills:
- Basic programming and scripting skills
- Problem-solving and logical thinking
- Ability to explain technical ideas simply
- Organized and detail-oriented
