Position Summary The Supply Chain Project Manager plays a critical role in leading cross-functional initiatives to ensure the successful transition of new products into manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies that align with business objectives and project timelines. The Supply Chain Project Manager will oversee all phases of project planning and execution—identifying and managing risks related to schedule, manufacturing processes, technical constraints, logistics, quality, and market demand fluctuations.

Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with gated business objectives

  • Creating a project plan and maintaining it whilst identifying and managing project risks:

  • schedule/timeline risks

  • technical constraints of the product being developed

  • design for manufacturability/lessons learned

  • supply chain risks

  • logistics/facilities risks

  • manufacturing process development, repeatability and optimization

  • product or process design risks

  • quality plan

  • risk of changing forecast (up or down)

  • Proactively managing materials availability by making sure the bill of material (BOM & Parts List) and technical product drawings required for all related parts are available on schedule

  • Creating transparent parts supply and demand schedules by including all relevant design release and lead time information

  • Determining and communicating the consequences that proposed plan changes have on the supply chain

  • Creating, aligning, and monitoring implementation plans for engineering change notices (ECO), while identifying and mitigating the impact on material and schedule timing, cost and quality

  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements where necessary

  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and customers

  • Work closely with all departments and groups within Vecima, such as but not limited to Supply Chain, Technical Operations and Research and Development (R&D), to ensure the smooth transition of new products to manufacturing

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the functions of the various departments within Vecima enabling them to identify opportunities and make informed decisions relating to actions needed for optimal product transition

  • Assume accountability for all aspects of the project delivery and success with support from department leaders and, as such, must address and take ownership of any issue that could affect the project delivery

  • Create and manage budgets for the expenses occurred to transition products/projects and meet the capacity requirements

  • Work with the necessary stakeholders to develop manufactured cost targets for the product under development

  • Report on project status health and risks with supporting mitigation actions

  • Provide project management mentorship to team as required

Position Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum Sc. degree, Technologist diploma, or equivalent
  • PMP certification
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing projects
  • Typically requires a minimum 5 years working on or with a volume manufacturing line
  • Captures actions but occasionally needs to be provided direction or reminding to get a specific task completed
  • Accepts accountability for roles
  • Must be collaborative but assertive when necessary with the ability to think critically on a wide range of topics during the course of a project development
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of personality types calmly and effectively will be essential to success in this role
  • Must have advanced time management skills
