Summary As we grow, we’re looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Richmond team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting, assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, and assisting with other initiatives as needed.
This is a hybrid position—work onsite Monday to Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Ensure invoice processing is accurate and on time
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, including intercompany accounts
- Prepare periodic sales tax filing, and other government filings
- Prepare/review/post journal entries
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations and working capital analysis
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end procedures
- Assist with preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and related working papers
- Assist with external audit of the financial statements
- Assist with other financial reporting and strategic initiatives as requested by the management team
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience working in accounting is required
- Experience working for a manufacturing company is an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in financial statement consolidations an asset
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365 / Business Central 365 or equivalent ERP software
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or equivalent
- CPA or CPA in progress
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (including VLookups, HLookup)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (mandatory)
- Highly motivated self-starter, and works well to meet deadlines with a high degree of quality and accuracy
- Strong ability to “think on your feet” and problem-solve
- Team player committed to collaborating with colleagues to support work-related goals
- Enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude
