About the role
We are seeking a Administration Team Lead to join our BPA team in Vaughan.
The Administration Team Lead oversees staff whose job functions include processing of employer benefit contribution reports and maintaining enrollment data of benefit plan participants. They ensure contribution reports are verified for accuracy according to clients' contract specifications in order to determine accurate benefit plan entitlements for members, identify employer payment irregularities, initiate collection efforts, and enforce delinquency procedures.
This position is 100% in-office.
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm with rotational Wednesday, 12pm – 8pm and Saturday, 9am – 12pm shifts every 12-16 weeks.
The Administration Team Lead Will
- Direct and manage Administration and Accounting Department staff and assist in recruitment
- Analyze issues and requests brought forward by clients or staff and provide alternative solutions and directions based on system capabilities and established company policies.
- Develop improved methods for carrying out the department's work and processes.
- Train new staff and develop skills of existing staff members, maintain personnel files and records, and conduct yearly performance reviews.
- Complete system maintenance and set up of employer contribution grids in accordance with the relevant Collective Agreement.
- Maintain premium rates on MEBS system.
- Respond to Canada Revenue Agency regarding inquiries related to members.
- Periodically create queries to maintain data integrity on MEBS system.
- Provide as requested periodic reports of Boards of Trustees and Account Manager or Consultants as required.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of client records.
- Modification of deceased member records.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time by Management.
To be successful as an Administration Team Leader with BPA, you will need:
- Experience relevant to the duties and accountabilities of the position, experience working in a customer service environment preferably related to the administration of group benefits insurance programs.
- Knowledge of financial records and systems with demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data.
- University Degree or related business training from a recognized educational institution and 5 or more years of related working experience; OR, 10 years of related working experience of which at least 2 years are in a supervisory position; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- PC proficiency with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word skills essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- The ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- A functioning understanding of the legacy system "AS400".
- The ability to delegate tasks & responsibilities and follow up to ensure work tasks are accomplished.
- Strong leadership, training, coaching and organizational skills.
