Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Strategic Optimization (SO) General Supervisor, you will be part of the SO Department. You will play a key role in supporting the transition of a mining project from construction and commissioning to operation. You will act as a strategic partner across departments—engineering, maintenance, health, and safety, environment, and operations—to develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive operational readiness plans. You will lead readiness initiatives, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure that systems, processes, people, and infrastructure are aligned for a safe, efficient, and sustainable operation. In addition to the Operational Readiness Planning (ORP) baseload, the SO Specialist will facilitate multi-departmental business improvement projects. You will build business cases to quantify and value projects, build project timelines and milestones, and track execution and delivery.

Manage Operational Readiness Plans (ORPs) and Projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Coordinate cross-functional readiness activities to align with project milestones. Support the development and implementation of operational readiness frameworks. Facilitate readiness reviews, gap analyses, and risk assessments. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, and communication plans. Facilitate ORPs and project meetings; track action items to completion. Monitor readiness and project KPIs; provide progress updates to leadership. Partner with department leads to define operational requirements, staffing, and training needs for handover. Facilitate workshops, process mapping, and improvement initiatives. Support the development of SOPs, commissioning plans, and maintenance strategies. Foster constructive relationships with team members, department experts, and systems owners. Complete data analysis and create data visualization tools for tracking and reporting; Promote a culture of continuous improvement by training project team members in the successful completion of projects and continuous improvement tools; Lead by example and encourage adherence to Agnico Eagle’s Health and Safety Code of Conduct

What You Need To Succeed

A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Science, or related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in project management, operational readiness, continuous improvement, or business optimization within industrial or resource-based sectors. Demonstrated skills in change management, strategic planning, and organizational execution. Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Experience in cost optimization, including budget development, cost tracking, and participation in variance analysis and financial review meetings. Proven ability to design and deliver business improvement training programs, including facilitation of in-person workshops and presentations. Experience working effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project. Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools is considered an asset. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Note that the official working language at the Hope Bay mine is English.

Your Work Schedule

This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work and of site presence, with periodic travel to the mine site based on operational needs. Site visits are typically scheduled once per month, with a duration of approximately 7 days, depending on project requirements. Charter flights to the mine site are provided by Agnico Eagle, departing from Edmonton, AB, or Yellowknife, NWT. While on site, accommodation and meals are provided at no cost to the employee. The company may also provide reimbursement or coverage for additional travel-related expenses, subject to company policy.
