About You: We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our cloud infrastructure and platform strategy. You will be a key technical leader responsible for shaping our cloud architecture vision—with AWS as the primary platform, while also bringing multi-cloud expertise (GCP, Azure) as a plus.

Position Overview: This role is designed for a senior, strategic Cloud Architect who has built large-scale cloud platforms, defined multi-account AWS strategies, and shaped enterprise architecture standards. You will own the long-term cloud vision, create the blueprint for our next-generation infrastructure, and guide engineering teams in building secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native systems.

This is not a DevOps or SRE role.

This is a platform architecture & system design leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the Enterprise Cloud Architecture Vision
• Develop and own DataStealth’s AWS cloud architecture roadmap.
• Create and govern reference architectures for all platform components.
• Drive architectural decision-making across engineering and IT leadership.
• Lead Platform-Scale AWS Architecture
• Design large-scale distributed systems using:
• EKS/ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, VPC networking
• Multi-account patterns, landing zones, identity architecture (IAM), and data security models
• High-availability, multi-region, and disaster-recovery architectures
• Architecture Governance & Standards
• Establish architecture principles, cloud design patterns, and technical guardrails.
• Oversee architectural reviews, threat models, scalability plans, and long-term system evolution.
• Ensure designs meet compliance requirements (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Modernization Leadership
• Lead modernization from monolithic systems to event-driven or microservices architectures.
• Shape migration strategies, domain boundaries, and service decomposition plans.
• Provide architectural oversight during complex cloud transformation initiatives.
• Technical Leadership Across Engineering
• Coach teams on architectural best practices, cloud-native design, and distributed systems.
• Guide solution design for new features, services, and platform capabilities.
• Partner with IT Ops and SRE teams (not own their work) to ensure operational excellence.
• Strategic Evaluation of Emerging Technologies
• Assess new AWS services, architectural frameworks, and patterns.
• Recommend innovations that improve scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement of our cloud posture.

Qualifications Cloud Architecture Expertise

• 5+ years leading architectural design of large-scale, production-grade AWS systems.
• Proven experience designing multi-account, secure, scalable distributed systems.
• Strong foundation in cloud networking, identity, zero-trust, and data protection strategies.

Architecture + Engineering Depth

• Hands-on understanding of microservices, API design, event-driven architectures.
• Ability to create system diagrams, data-flow models, and architectural decision records.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CDK) as part of architecture governance—not as a primary function.

Security & Compliance Architecture

• Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption models, cloud security frameworks, and regulatory controls.
• Communication & Leadership
• Exceptional ability to articulate architectural decisions to executives and engineering teams.
• Comfortable leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and setting long-term direction.

Nice to Have:

• Awareness of Azure/GCP cloud architecture.
• Experience in highly regulated sectors or data-intensive enterprise platforms.
