We are currently looking for a GUEST SERVICES team member to join our dynamic team at FIVE SAILS RESTAURANT, located in the Pan Pacific Hotel. Our team delivers Vancouver’s only Four Diamond dining experience in a charming and relaxed atmosphere. Where the city meets the harbor, and the land meets the sea.

As a personal representation of the service and overall brand, it is the job of GUEST SERVICES to ensure all our guests feel welcomed and appreciated.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a positive guest experience that begins with a friendly greeting and warm smile

• Cultivate loyal patrons; recognize and acknowledge repeat guests

• Accurately take reservations that optimize each service period

• Efficiently maintain and organize restaurant by managing guest flow while maximizing seating capacity

• Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly

• Maintain knowledge of menu items, table numbers and server sections

• Handle guest complaints quickly and efficiently - seek management assistance, if needed

• Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff following restaurant procedures

• Assist in the scheduling of the host team

• Train new hosts, ensure their training plan is complete

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years’ experience in similar high-volume environment

• A positive, energetic outlook and a genuine personality

• Enjoys working with people and has a passion for hospitality

• Excellent organization and time management skills

• Ability to proactively anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations

• Strong communication skills; verbal and written

• Understands the dynamic of a team working towards a common goal
