Accountabilities: Lead the technical architecture and long-term technology strategy for scalable AI-powered software platforms. Design cloud-native solutions, define APIs, service boundaries, integration patterns, and engineering standards that promote performance, security, maintainability, and scalability. Translate product requirements into technical roadmaps, implementation plans, workstreams, and delivery milestones while identifying risks and mitigation strategies. Provide technical leadership for AI initiatives, including integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), agent-based workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and AI governance best practices. Contribute directly to software development by building production-quality backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and supporting frontend development when required. Review code, mentor developers, promote engineering best practices, and help establish a high-performing culture focused on quality and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align architecture, product vision, and delivery objectives while ensuring successful execution across complex technical initiatives. Requirements 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Solution Architect role. Strong full-stack development expertise with TypeScript, JavaScript, React (or comparable frontend frameworks), Node.js, REST APIs, and cloud-native application design. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software architecture principles. Proven experience building production applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI technologies. Knowledge of AI concepts such as agentic workflows, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, Model Context Protocol (MCP), evaluation frameworks, and AI governance. Strong systems-thinking, architectural design, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills. Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery while guiding teams through complex design decisions. Experience with XR, VR, AR, Unity, training platforms, consulting environments, or regulated industries is considered an asset. Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
