About the role

This position will be the lead financial partner for the sales and marketing team in the Food Service division, including Trade management for Food Service North America in a time sensitive environment. Financial duties include managing the pricing process, P&L and influencing business decisions that drive customer revenue and profitability. The Manager will perform financial planning and analysis; automating and/or building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, develop short and long range financial/operational forecasts, standardize pricing models and work on ad hoc financial analysis and projects. The successful candidate will drive the core financial processes for the business including pricing/margin analysis, margin setting for forecasts and annual operating plans, P&Ls, identify and quantify financial/operational risks and opportunities to the business, and drive ad-hoc business projects.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Team Management

  • Provide leadership direct and indirect
  • Establishing objectives and providing coaching in developing skills sets (including attention to detail, time management, excel modelling) to drive a high performing team

Pricing/Trade Management

  • Lead monthly/quarterly pricing and margin analysis reviews with key stakeholders
  • Closely tied to Costing and Supply Chain Finance, determining impact of COGS changes on future pricing to attain optimal pricing
  • Support Sales in pricing for customer bids
  • Financial modelling for pricing, ensuring Marketing, Sales Ops and Sales receive timely pricing for price changes to be executed and communicated to stakeholders
  • Provide leadership support to Senior Trade FA in improving trade processes/accruals

Month/Quarter-end; Forecasting/Budgeting

  • Establish margins for monthly/quarterly forecasting and budgeting
  • Drive accurate accruals, and support financial close activities where applicable
  • Work with FP&A team and independently across the company to provide analysis and insight to key stakeholders, including company leadership, in core processes as well as on a project basis including profit opportunities

Other

  • Drive internal process improvements and controls; continually identify opportunities for automation to allow the team to perform world-class analytics

  • Create models, analysis and presentations that condense complex topics into actionable information

  • Work with inventory control management and logistics team with financial analysis and finance support when applicable

  • Support FP&A Senior Manager in future and post analysis in business decision making for the Marketing and Sales departments

Qualifications

This role requires a results driven self-starter, strong financial modeling and pricing background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management and good understanding of accounting practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related area
  • 5 years previous experience in finance roles, at least 2 years in Manager
  • An ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • Food Service FP&A experience is preferred
  • Previous commodity pricing experience an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and regulations
  • An ability to drive company processes and controls throughout the organization
  • An ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment, while managing timelines
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
  • Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Strong leadership skills including demonstrated relationship building

  • Expected travel for this role is 0-5%
