Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Western Canada, this position is located in our Vancouver Office. The General Manager will oversee the delivery of janitorial services to all contracts within the Vancouver Office as well as the overall functions of their particular branch.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a culture that promotes inclusion, innovation, productivity, and collaboration.
  • Build strong relationships, listen intently, and utilize clear & transparent communication.
  • Review client visitation reports to ensure service requirements are maintained as per the various contract agreements.
  • Conduct random site inspections to ensure quality levels are maintained, documented and communicated to the client contact.
  • Conduct random site audits to ensure staffing levels and payroll reports are accurate, key/card access controls and quality inspection programs are in place, WHMIS documentation and training is current, supply levels are adequate, equipment and employee uniforms are in good order.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients by conducting formal client review meetings on a regular basis.
  • Review month end revenue to ensure invoicing is accurate.
  • Review all labour costs against budget to ensure accounts are on budget.
  • Participate in union collective agreement negotiations.
  • Ensure all monthly reporting is completed as per month end deadlines.
  • Conduct regular operations management meetings with staff to develop a true team spirit and share problem solving techniques.
  • Review monthly financial reports with Operations and prepare corrective plans for over-budget accounts.
  • Review red flag accounts with Operations staff and prepare corrective action strategies.
  • Develop and participate in client retention programs with Operations staff.
  • Prepare and present annual operating budget.
  • Attend BOMA functions and network with peers to stay current with the Real Estate community and competitors.
  • Assist the Sales team in securing new business.
  • Prepare contract renewal pricing and negotiate renewals.
