About the role

Clean Harbors in Nisku, AB is seeking a Warehouse Lead Hand to join their safety conscious team! The Lead Hand is responsible for the operation of the warehouse on a day-to-day basis that specifically requires oversight to inventory and work order processing to ensure route drivers have proper materials on vehicles each day. The role ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycling or distribution centers. Keeps warehouse/facility in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations. Manages the type and amount of products stored in the branch warehouse to ensure all necessary products are available while maintaining stocking.

Responsibilities

  • Operating, offloading and reloading route trucks with equipment for next day’s runs.
  • Manage all inventory ordering and receiving processes.
  • Oversee, coach and mentor warehouse team.
  • Work with waste labels, manifests, and load sheets.
  • Stock warehouse with materials after DC truck arrival.
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment to RC/DC.
  • Troubleshooting Parts Washer equipment.
  • Coordinate with facility employees to keep work orders and other paperwork current.
  • Daily facility Inspection
  • Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits
  • Perform minor repairs on parts washers at warehouse
  • Conduct weekly inspections of the shop and yard to identify any deficiencies or trends that may be present.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience working in a warehouse leadership position.
  • Class 3 driver’s license.
  • Strong computer skills to order supplies/equipment and set proper stocking levels in warehouse.
  • Strong understanding of inventory processes/procedures to ensure consistent and accurate counts.
  • Current forklift license is a strong asset.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and organizational skills.
