About the role
Sepal is running a research initiative to evaluate how AI performs in real-world professional settings. We're partnering with experienced training and L&D leaders to help us assess whether today's AI systems can accurately reason through real training, upskilling, and professional development scenarios.
Your experience building learning strategies, rolling out training programs, and leading L&D initiatives will help set the gold standard for how AI should behave in this domain.

Project Scope & Timeline
-- This is a project-based opportunity requiring 40–100 total hours of work between now and December 29. The engagement begins with a paid 2–4 day work trial to ensure mutual fit.
-- Work is flexible and fully remote
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
-- 4+ years full-time experience in a training or learning & development leadership role
-- English language fluency
-- Canadian residency
-- Access to a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet
-- Technology proficiency: Comfortable with messaging, video calling, and uploading files
-- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and complete online tasks independently
COMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS
-- Hourly pay: $73–$150 per hour, plus task bonuses based on experience and fit
-- Paid bi-weekly based on tracked and approved hours
-- Entirely remote
-- Current employment in the field is not required
WHAT YOU'LL DO
-- Share a short overview of your background and L&D focus areas
-- Review how AI approaches training needs assessments, program design, or instructional content creation
-- Evaluate how well the system aligns with what experienced professionals would actually do
-- Offer feedback or improved examples that reflect how learning professionals think, plan, and lead
WHY THIS MATTERS
AI is already starting to show up in employee training, onboarding flows, and performance development tools - but these systems often fall short of the nuance and human insight required for real growth.
By participating, you'll help benchmark the capabilities and limitations of AI in the learning and development space, and ensure that as these tools evolve, they reflect the empathy, strategy, and care that great L&D professionals bring to the table.
