As a Manager, Fleet & Auto Insurance, a typical day might include:
- Overseeing staff scheduling, ensuring the office is staffed appropriately at all times
- Ensuring ICBC protocols are being met, including monthly Inventory control and Batching.
- Collaborating with the HR recruitment team, maintains, develops, and attracts skilled staff to the Auto team
- Acting as liaison between direct reports, senior management, internal, and external stake holders when issues arise requiring attention
- Performing staff performance evaluations and makes recommendations as required
- Approving, monitoring, and tracking department vacation, sick, and remote workdays for direct reports, providing quarterly summaries to the Director of Finance
- Reviewing and monitoring any staff expenses for direct reports
- Leading the team and provides a work environment that is supportive of the productivity and morale of all staff
- Contributing to a positive team environment by working efficiently, professionally, and in a friendly manner
- Improving our organization by sharing ideas and opinions, contributing and building communication in all directions and levels
- Executing and facilitating regular meetings with staff:
- Monitoring and auditing workflows
- Ensuring staff feel supported and heard by department leadership team
- Communicating Axis’ goals and achievements
- Collaborating with staff to monitor Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
- Providing training and mentorship
- Immediately dealing with staff issues and working towards a timely resolution
- Developing and maintaining high service level standards for the department
- Effectively motivating and supervising employees, including team building.
- Assisting others as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrating needs-based sales behavior builds relationships with new and existing customers, including reactive and tag-on selling, asking for referrals, generating new business, and increasing customer retention
- Maintaining a diary of prospective/current clients and follow-ups on sales leads
- Reviewing and working renewal lists, contacting clients a minimum of 45 days in advance
- Ensuring that all notes to file are completed after each transaction in a timely, accurate manner

Must Haves:
- Minimum 5 years Commercial insurance experience, consistently meeting internal core competencies
- General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or equivalent license in the individual’s province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license
- CAIB, CIP, CRM or other insurance designations considered an asset
- Post Secondary Degree considered an asset
- Experience using EPIC broker management system an asset
