About the role

Guided by our common goal of focused on doing what's best for our members and clients, Desjardins is seeking to fill the position of Vice-President, Private Wealth Management. In this leading role, you’ll be responsible for defining, rolling out and updating the business priorities that will strengthen and enhance the Private Wealth Management business line’s strategic position in Quebec and across Canada. You’ll make sure that the wealth management strategy, the personnal services sectors, the specialized networks, the business services sector and Desjardins Group’s governance bodies are fully aligned.

You’ll support the Wealth Management Networks Division, helping prioritize and implement the business line’s strategic directions. You’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and updating the business plan in a transformational and growing environment.

More specifically, you’ll:

  • Develop and update the Private Wealth Management service offer by bringing business development teams together around the 360° Offer and ensuring that service delivery is aligned across the division.
  • Oversee business and financial performance, particularly in terms of growth of our wealth management business, operational profitability and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the Vice Presidency within various Desjardins Group entities, certain regulatory organizations, and industry associations.
  • Develop and lead business directions to position and grow Private Wealth Management across Canada by strengthening synergies with the various Desjardins networks.
  • Lead the implementation of the business plan, adapting to changes in the market and industry, while keeping a close eye on the competitive environment.
  • Develop and market the Private Wealth Management offer by supporting teams with the quality of the proposed strategies, skills development and continuous improvement of practices.
  • Secure the long-term success of the business line by implementing diversified talent development, succession and attraction/retention strategies for key Private Wealth Management roles.

Main challenges of the role:

  • Expand business development by targeting the most promising markets, leveraging data and analysis to improve market knowledge and identifying new business development opportunities.
  • Develop integrated, structured wealth management solutions tailored to the needs of members and clients.
  • Mobilize and encourage business development teams to adopt wealth management directions and business strategies, while providing an innovative and stimulating business environment.
  • Adopt a Desjardins-wide approach while taking into account the specific needs and business challenges of the Private Wealth Management sector.

Job requirements:

  • Several years of experience in private wealth management
  • Fluent English given the nature of the duties, work tools and interactions with English-speaking partners, members and clients
  • Proven ability to execute, optimize and lead transformation initiatives
  • Strong political skills and ability to evolve in an ambiguous and uncertain environment
  • Clear focus on members, clients and partners
  • Ability to promote simplicity, efficiency and agile processes
