ABB Measurement & Analytics in Quebec is a global leader in the field of spectroscopy and the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and for weather forecasting.
The Measurement & Analytics business segment develops, manufactures, sells, delivers, and maintains products and solutions to help our customers improve the efficiency and profitability of their operations. By joining the Quality department, you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team where you will perform various tasks while ensuring the continuous improvement and compliance of our methodology, tools, and work processes.
Your Role as a Quality Assurance Specialist:
You will ensure rigorous execution of various production-related activities that meet strict quality standards and comply with our customers’ demanding requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the ongoing identification and management of risks and opportunities related to the local organization and its quality management.
- Conducting audits and using quality data analysis from different parts of the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformities.
- Participating in the implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions and ensuring follow-up until full resolution.
- Independently ensuring compliance with our processes, standards, and best practices, and conducting process and supplier audits.
- Performing activities related to designated quality areas: customer and complaint management, manufacturing quality, quality planning, product safety and compliance, design and development quality, audits, and reporting.
- Promoting the Voice of the Customer within the local unit and ensuring that risks, issues, and solutions are evaluated from the customer or stakeholder perspective.
- Supporting the resolution of customer cases by guiding and assisting teams in thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Ensuring flawless and repeatable product introduction, manufacturing, and delivery, impeccable service or project execution quality, and identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Contributing to the selection, qualification, evaluation, monitoring, and improvement of our suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Validating and approving design, purchasing, integration, and testing documentation, and controlling quality during manufacturing and assembly testing.
- Participating in the Configuration Control Board as a quality decision-maker and following up on the implementation of design changes.
You are known for your leadership, decision-making, rigor, and ability to work in a team. Fully committed to fulfilling your responsibilities, you are autonomous, accountable, analytical, and a strong communicator both orally and in writing. You show interest in working in a standards-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in science (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of relevant expertise for the position.
- Good knowledge of French and English, spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience in a regulated environment.
- Availability to travel occasionally.
