About the role

Job Summary

The  ServiceNow ITAM Technical Consultant  is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing IT Asset Management (ITAM) solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The solutions should align with best practices; ensuring upgradeability and stability. Communication skills are essential for successful client delivery and stakeholder adoption.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deployment of ServiceNow modules leveraging industry best practices and standards.
  • Provide technical and thought leadership in both system integration and application development, while also promoting best practices in these areas.
  • Contribute to the technical direction, recommend, and design the solution to leverage the ServiceNow best practices and out of the box functionality.
  • Contribute to internal artifacts and deliverables to ensure they meet solution requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documents, architecture diagrams, system documentation, and manuals.
  • Troubleshoot production and test issues; perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective action, and perform resolution efforts.
  • Assist teams with associated technical and process activities.
  • Maintain instance integrity & security based on ServiceNow best practices.
  • Provide functional expertise as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all application suites respective to their product line.
  • Provide mentorship and project oversight to ServiceNow developers and junior technical consultants.
  • Contribute to the sizing and scoping of product line projects.

Success Criteria

  • Delivery of stable, scalable, and compliant ITAM solutions with minimal post-deployment issues.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback and alignment of ITAM processes with strategic objectives.
  • Audit-ready documentation and consistent adherence to governance standards.
  • Achieve the chargeability goal established by management.
  • Active CSA certification and progress toward additional certifications relevant to assigned modules (e.g., ITSM, CIS-SAM, CIS-HAM). Participation in delta exams and credential maintenance activities as outlined by the ServiceNow Certification Maintain Program.

Organizational Alignment

  • The role will report to the ServiceNow Technical Team Lead.
  • The Technical Consultant will play an active role in the development of the Associate Technical Consultant.

Job Requirements

What you offer

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline, OR minimum (3) years of equivalent/relevant job experience in ITAM.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to define requirements and performance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of the Identification and Reconciliation engine and impacts to Asset Management
  • Experience with Normalization Data Services configuration
  • Experience with Software Asset Management Lifecycle
  • Experience with Hardware Asset Management Lifecycle
  • Experience with Procurement and Contract Management
  • Understanding of platform security and integration best practices
  • Fundamental knowledge of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Software development experience with JavaScript, API Integrations, Web development familiarity (HTML, CSS, and XML) and database concepts.
  • Excellent skills in leading workshops, gathering requirements, presenting complex technical information, and managing client relationships; including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work as a trusted contributor on individual assignments and components as well as in a team environment and on client-developed teams
  • Ability to pass extensive background check and/or security clearances required to achieve certain certifications and/or to access secure customer locations
  • Extremely organized with a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience supervising individuals and/or managing teams on a project or ongoing basis
  • A positive promotor of work culture and a "can do" attitude
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Willingness to travel (up to 15%) and be comfortable in changing office environments

Target compensation for this role will be $100-125K CAD (mix of base salary and bonus). Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) candidates’ qualifications, experience, education, and work location.
