About the role:
The QA Automation Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Peoples Group’s technology solutions. This role is 100% focused on automation and requires strong technical expertise in Core Java, Python, Bitbucket, GitHub, and API testing. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks that support continuous integration and delivery.
About the day-to-day:
- Collaborate with Product Owners to understand high-level requirements and capture business needs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze business and system requirements.
- Conduct detailed business process analysis and develop process flow diagrams, user stories, functional specifications, and use cases.
- Obtain key inputs from SMEs, Architects, and dependent teams to identify solution interdependencies and conduct system/data mapping.
- Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Product Owner.
- Liaise between business users and technical teams, translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Design and implement automated test scripts and frameworks using Java and Python.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket and GitHub.
- Perform API testing and validation to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Use tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage and track project requirements, tasks, and documentation.
- Collaborate with your Squad (developers, testers, DevOps) to refine, estimate, build, test, and launch product features.
- Participate in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate system designs and validate proposed solutions.
- Deliver presentations and demonstrations of new product functionality to stakeholders and clients.
- Provide support during system implementation, including user training and post-implementation activities.
About the qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering, test automation, or software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, Python, Bitbucket, GitHub, and API testing.
- Proven experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Solid understanding of business process modeling and system design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times

Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $95,000 and $105,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
