Winter 2026 ENCI 693 Project Engineering Management

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary has an opening for a 0.5/half Sessional Instructor position to teach the following course in Winter 2026 (January 5 - April 30, 2026).

ENCI 693:Project Engineering Management

Role of the engineering manager in the project management team. The engineering firm, its organization and function; project development, engineering project control; design control; scope and estimate control; engineering interfaces with procurement and construction; engineering responsibility in project commissioning start-up and operations.

  • Lecture 01 Monday, Wednesday 17:00-18:15

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will be expected to have earned a master's degree in engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to the course. The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or show the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability, and a strong commitment to engineering education.

The Department of Civil Engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). To maintain our programs' accreditation, faculty must be licensed to practice engineering in Alberta. The successful candidate will be expected to hold professional engineering licensure with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or the equivalent association in another Canadian province.
