Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Governance and Control Analyst to play a key role in the development and implementation of governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing audit processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in financial accounting, general ledger reconciliation and data analysis.

*Please note this is a 12 month fixed-term secondment.

What Will You Do?

  • Assist in managing and coordinating internal and external audit/SOX processes, including preparation, data collection, and documentation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of SOX packages, including the key controls inventory, process maps, and IT dependencies.
  • Establish control monitoring metrics and a data-driven control testing framework to measure control effectiveness and inform testing strategy.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, and innovate strategies to strengthen risk monitoring and governance.
  • Provide development advice on the design of new controls to adequately address identified risks.
  • Support governance and control projects as assigned.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must Have:

  • 2 years of experience in Operational Risk or Audit-related capacity, with a focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to financial reporting and internal controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive issues to conclusion and navigate complex data sets
  • A curious and inquiring mindset, with a passion for leveraging data analytics and insights to inform decision-making
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple demands and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

**Nice-to-have **

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration or other related field.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger reconciliation processing and Enterprise GL Attestation
  • Exposure to SOX control testing frameworks and processes
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, with experience in creating and managing projects and tasks
