Company Description Hampton Lumber Sales Canada is part of the Hampton Lumber family of companies, a privately owned North American forest products business with a long standing reputation for quality manufacturing, strong customer relationships, and operational excellence.

From our Richmond, BC office, Hampton Lumber Sales Canada markets and distributes a broad range of lumber products throughout Canada and the United States. Our business is built on long term partnerships, market knowledge, reliable execution, and an entrepreneurial approach to sales and trading.

We operate in a fast moving industry where relationships, timing, market awareness, and problem solving matter every day.

The Opportunity We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join our Commodity Lumber Trading team in Richmond, BC.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a competitive, fast paced environment and enjoys sales, negotiation, relationship building, and market analysis. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced traders and gain hands on exposure to the North American lumber business from both a sales and supply perspective.

The Role

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, sawmills, wholesalers, reloads, and transportation providers
  • Buy and sell commodity lumber products throughout North America
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, supply dynamics, and transportation conditions
  • Build sales programs for Hampton’s three BC SPF sawmills
  • Work collaboratively with internal sales, logistics, and administrative teams
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop customer accounts
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and transaction terms
  • Manage daily trading activity and customer communication
  • Learn product applications, lumber grades, species, and market channels

The Candidate We are looking for someone who is:

Experience in lumber, building materials, wholesale distribution, transportation, manufacturing, or sales is considered an asset, but not required for the right candidate.

Post secondary education in business, marketing, forestry, economics, or a related field is considered an asset.
