Hours : 35 hours

Salary: 106,223 - 113,003 per annum (compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package (including extended health and dental, life insurance, health care spending account), participation in the OMERS pension plan, competitive vacation and sick leave)

Duration: October 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 38 in-person schools (31 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Job Overview: Reporting to the Superintendent of Business Services, participates in the implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Ensure business processes are optimized within the new ERP system. Responsible for ensuring that the system configuration meets business requirements. Perform data mapping and validation to the new system. Assist in the creation of training materials and lead knowledge transfer to staff. Provide post-migration support to business users. Identify gaps and develop solutions to financial processes. Assist with special projects or initiatives to increase efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and optimize Business Processes. Understand the current financial accounting process supported by the existing system. Identify opportunities for improvements within ERP.
  • Participate and assist with mapping financial data from the current financial system to the new ERP.
  • Ensure ERP configuration meets business requirements. Collaborate with IT Teams and Vendor to ensure that ERP is configured to meet business requirements.
  • Lead in the creation of training materials and knowledge transfer to staff, for the implementation of the new ERP tool.
  • Identify gaps and develop solutions to address any weaknesses or issues in financial processes, then proposing and implementing solutions to improve overall project efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin or a closely related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is a strong asset.
  • Project management or certification (PMP) is a strong asset.
  • 5 years experience in a financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of all financial aspects, financial reporting, general ledger and internal controls.
  • Proven experience in participating in ERP projects including system configuration and data migration.
  • Demonstrated business analysis and business process skills to enable continuous transformation of business processes ensuring proper internal controls.
  • Exceptional computer skills including financial management systems and Google and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
