Role Details
Work Location – Toronto Shift/Hours – Monday to Friday, Days The full base salary range for this position is from $82,800 - $92,000 annually. The starting base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, skills, experience, and internal equity.
About This Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Revenue Growth Management, The Specialist assists in the development of analytical tools and provides inquiry based on centralized data in a timely manner to support management routines and fact-based decision making with the goal of accelerating profitable, sustainable revenue growth. The analytics and recommendations provided by this role are essential to identifying opportunities for customer growth, trade spend optimization, course corrections and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
Pricing and Contract Governance
Support customer pricing breakdown by providing benchmarking and profit ROI (Return of investment) breakdown for deal optimization Conduct post-audit routines to assess actual performance vs. forecasted to identify actionable tactics Provide stewardship in the pricing decision process and contract management routines Manage key relationships with stakeholders in sales, finance and operations
Trade and Promotion Optimization
Support the optimization of customer promotion activities by evaluating depth/frequency and pricing slopes Measure trade spend ROI (Return of Investment) for promotions vs. base, provide recommendations to optimize spend
Product Commercialization
Assist in developing go to market business cases with a lens to both internal pricing and external retail price data Complete post-audit routines to track performance of innovation SKUs
Business Transformation Office (BTO)
Conduct studies for projects assigned to the RGM (Revenue Growth Management) team and support cross-functional teams as subject expert Contribute to presentation deck content for BTO (Business Transformation Office) and leadership steering committees
Annual Revenue Planning Process
Assist in business planning by assessing planning files vs. key assumptions, including volume/rate/mix impacts for both base business and new sources of growth Assist in building yearly rate increase by examining current internal pricing, external retail information, COGS (cost of goods sold) and volume elasticity to provide optimal scenario
Ad-hoc Support and Reporting
Provide breakdown for monthly and Year-to-date reporting with an emphasis on results vs. business plan and prior year Assist in analyzing retail data, shipment data, and usage of visualization tools including Tableau and Power BI
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (commerce, finance, economics, data science, mathematics or general business are considered an asset) 1-3 years of business analysis experience (sales, category management, commercial or finance preferred) Working experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry an asset Advanced proficiency in excel with an ability to model large data sets (macros are considered an asset) Experience with SAP-Power BI reporting, Tableau, AC Nielsen an asset Experience in introductory data science or programming languages is an asset Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking Problem solver that finds efficiencies through process and tool innovation Performance driven with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn with a team-oriented attitude
