The Infrastructure Intelligence Unit is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst who will provide expert advice related to infrastructure policy in a fast paced, dynamic environment, to help inform how the province will plan strategic, evidence-based infrastructure investments across government.

About the job

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coordinate and participate in projects to conceptualize, develop and recommend strategies and policy options.
  • Participate in strategic planning, analyze emerging issues, provide sound policy advice and make recommendations.
  • Oversee all aspects of project planning and management, including establishing timelines and deliverables, managing consultant procurement and reviewing work.
  • Develop consultation processes and manage relationships with stakeholders for consultation, advice and collaboration.

What you bring to the team

Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

You can:

  • Conduct environmental scans and analyze trends using quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Evaluate policy and planning proposals for their impact on infrastructure and strategic outcomes.
  • Analyze stakeholder interests to develop balanced policy options and solutions

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

You can:

  • Consult and gain support with infrastructure planning and policy stakeholders and resolve emerging issues.
  • Foster strong stakeholder and partner relationships and address diverse needs.
  • Collaborate effectively in team environments toward consensus-building and deliver shared project outcomes.
  • Facilitate meetings and present clear explanations of policy and program recommendations to varied audiences and senior management.
  • Prepare clear, impactful written materials including reports, briefings, speeches, and correspondence.

Technical Knowledge

You have:

  • Extensive experience in policy development and analysis to create effective options and outreach strategies.
  • Knowledge of government capital planning, asset management, procurement, and infrastructure delivery.
  • An understanding of economic theory in the context of public policy and planning.

Project Management Skills

  • You have project management skills to lead and participate in projects and conceptualize strategic policy options
