Computer Trainer – Full Time
*This position is ideally located in Cape Breton, but open to candidates living in Nova Scotia *
The Computer Trainer will be responsible for delivering training and workshops in line with the programs and courses associated with the vocational services. The Computer Trainer will deliver several different training components of computer training including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), VRT training and other topics related to career and employment services.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions for individuals or groups on basic computer skills and software applications
- Assist in updating of training materials and manuals to ensure content is relevant and effective
- Prepare lesson plans for participants
- Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and participant progress
- Address any inquiries or concerns from participants to ensure a positive learning experience
- Evaluate participants progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
- Communicating clients' progress to supervisors and case managers through email communication and report documentation.
- Monitor and maintain participant files
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of University or technical training in a related field, with two years of related experience
- Experience with facilitating or instructing a group both virtually and in-person
- Fluent in English; proficiency in another language is an asset
- Ideally a Microsoft Specialist
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Sensitivity to learning limitations that may be present with participants
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office 365
- Ability to lesson plan for multiple levels of learning across various ages and abilities
- Previous experience working with adult learning
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to change tasks quickly and seamlessly
- An excellent understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity
- Security/background check is required
