Mill Support Clerk
Position Description:
Reporting to the Mill General Foremen, the Mill Clerk provides administrative support to the Processing Department, including Operations, Maintenance, Metallurgy, and Tailings. This position ensures the efficient handling of administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, preparing requisitions, entering data in SAP, maintaining records, and assisting with general documentation to support safe and efficient mill operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support to Processing teams, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Prepare, process, and track purchase requisitions, goods receipts, and purchase orders through SAP.
- Monitor inventory levels, initiate material replenishment requests, and follow up with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams on deliveries.
- Enter and update maintenance work orders, notifications, and equipment history in SAP to ensure accurate and current records.
- Assist with data entry for production, maintenance, and metallurgical reporting.
- Maintain and organize departmental files, logs and safety records both electronically and in hard copy.
- Compile and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve document flow.
- Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Assist with Cyanide Code record keeping
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Diploma or certificate in Business or Office Administration preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in an industrial, mining, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems for purchasing or maintenance management is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated initiative and accountability in administrative work.
