Job Title Global Experience Analysis Actuary, Manager

Job Description The Role We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Manager-level actuary to join our innovative Global Experience Analysis (EA) project. This role offers a unique opportunity to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the system design, development, and testing of our cutting-edge Global EA tool.

The Global EA project is an internal R&D-driven initiative aimed at building a centralized system for treaty Experience Analysis across Pricing, R&D, and Strategic Analytics actuarial teams. This system will be adopted consistently across our global locations and supported by robust infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in leading the Global EA project, gathering requirements, designing and delivering the necessary infrastructure and processes to ensure consistent adoption across our global network.
  • Drive the project through various phases, from the delivery of an AI driven data processing module, through to global rollout of an central Experience Analysis calculation and analysis tool.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver ambitious project goals.
  • Report to the Associate Vice President, R&D, and contribute to the Divisional R&D team’s broader research initiatives.

This is a perfect role for somebody eager to further their development, taking a lead on transformative projects looking revolutionize our actuarial processes and make a significant impact on our global R&D and Pricing operations.

Responsibilities Duties Product Design

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather both functional and non-functional requirements, and transform them into detailed technical specifications for developers
  • Design processes to improve user experience and output based on requirement gathering
  • Development methodologies for experience analysis and assumption setting suitable for use across the business
  • Provide input to how we can make the system user friendly, sleek and modern
  • Estimate system usage and storage needs

Project Management

  • Participate as a member of Project Working Group
  • Manage global R&D & Pricing relationships
  • Lead key project deliverables
  • Act as a deputy for the Project Lead as needed

Project Implementation

  • Design training for future users
  • Develop UAT approaches for scalability
  • Report operational events to senior management
  • Collaborate with regional management for BAU sign-off
  • Create promotional and training videos
  • Provide on-site training and support

Desirable Knowledge And Skills

  • Qualified Fellow of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries or other similar organisation
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Pro-active nature and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to collaborate with strong team-working and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within PL Re and knowledge of internal systems and processes
  • Experience working on process improvement projects
  • Knowledge and experience working to agile project principals
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communications skills
  • Competent in using programming languages (e.g. SQL, R or Tyche)
  • Experience in the development of automated unit testing
