About the role
2026 Summer Student Employment Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations (Sudbury INO) is pleased to announce that we will be accepting applications for 2026 summer employment from College and University students.
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS: February 27, 2026
Applicants must apply online at www.glencore.com/careers (the Job Reference # is OH02O - 000339/26 and upload a cover letter and resume. Applicants must state their parent’s name and employee number, if applicable. The following criteria will be used beginning with:
- Sudbury INO will give preference to Glencore scholarship recipients for the summer following the academic year for which they have been awarded a scholarship.
- Sons and daughters of Sudbury INO employees who are currently studying in the Mining, Milling and Smelting related disciplines (of Mine Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Trades, Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business and their related technologies/disciplines) will then be given preference. Students must clearly indicate on their cover letter their parent’s name and employee number in order to be considered as a family member.
- Students other than sons and daughters of our Sudbury INO employees who are currently studying in the Mining, Milling and Smelting related disciplines (of Mine Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Trades, Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business and their related technologies/disciplines) will then be considered.
- Students will be required to participate in a selection process.
Please also note the following:
- High school students are not eligible to apply. Students must have completed their first year of post-secondary education and be returning to school for full time study after summer employment. Students in their final year of study will not be considered for summer employment.
- To be eligible for summer work, students must provide proof of current enrolment in school and proof of intention to return full time in the fall, on or before their start date (tuition receipts, letters from the Registrar’s office confirming intent to return to school or evidence of approved course selection for the fall will be accepted by Human Resources). Subsequent employment is also dependent upon previous performance evaluations
- Students must be able to perform the physical demands of the work assigned and must successfully pass the Sudbury INO Pre-Placement Medical in order to be eligible for employment.
Summer students may not be required to work during any shutdown periods that may occur during the summer of 2026. Students will be required to attend a mandatory orientation program. The anticipated start date is expected to be during the first week of May 2026; their last day of work will be Friday, August 28, 2026. Please note that previous work placements do not guarantee summer employment.
