Description Location: 200, Route 100, Morden, MB (On-Site)
Department: Customer Solutions
The AutoCAD Supervisor plays a critical role in bridging the gap between Designer special requests and production execution. This position collaborates closely with Customer Solutions and Production to determine how custom cabinetry will be built, translating design intent into accurate visuals and detailed Bills of Materials (BOM).
This role also provides leadership to the AutoCAD Technicians, ensuring high-quality drawings, efficient processes, and strong collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support the AutoCAD and Construct Design team, including work assignment, training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Ensure the team is equipped to meet departmental and company productivity goals.
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Design Standards, Processes & Collaboration
- Develop and maintain processes and policies to ensure drawings meet designer requirements while supporting production efficiency.
- Act as a gatekeeper for design feasibility, defining what Decor will and will not do based on input from Customer Solutions and Production leaders.
- Partner with Customer Solutions to resolve design-related customer concerns.
- Build strong working relationships with Customer Solutions and Production leadership to support effective collaboration.
- Provide clear, timely information to internal stakeholders regarding drawings, design intent, and build details.
Key Competencies
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop a team.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction processes and components.
- Expert-level AutoCAD knowledge.
- Ability and willingness to learn Construct / BOM 3D modeling software.
- Strong relationship-building skills with production and customer-facing teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in technical drawings.
- Strong spatial and visual thinking skills.
- Comfortable working with fractions, decimals, and measurements.
Experience & Education
- AutoCAD certification or equivalent extensive hands-on experience is required.
- Cabinetry or construction-related experience or knowledge is required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
