What You’ll Do
General Maintenance
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, electrical code specifications and manufacturer’s manual to determine installation requirements and layout of industrial electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices, coordinate with venders as needed.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Testing of systems, optimization and programming modifications and upgrade of existing PLC systems as required.
- Test equipment and components for continuity, current voltage and resistance.
- Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Implement the preventive maintenance programs, perform routine maintenance on all equipment and keep maintenance records.
- Daily inspections, monitoring and maintenance of all equipment.
- Major contributor to the continued development of both the current and newly purchased equipment and systems as they are upgraded.
- May also perform all duties of general labourer, pipefitter, carpenter and millwright etc.
Maintenance of GED Line
- Work closely with GED technician in person or on phone to troubleshoot the line.
- Train other maintenance individuals and operators on the machine.
- Prepare a troubleshoot guide for the machine.
- Prepare a Work Instruction, SOP and other documentation on the machine.
- Understand and follow the quality standards related to the output of GED machine.
- Be flexible in the work hours and shift to accommodate production while troubleshooting.
- Open to the improvements that can be done on the machine.
- Understand the critical inventory parts required.
- Ensure all parts are entered into the maintenance software system.
- Other Duties as requested.
Your experience is
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in a Maintenance Technician position.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain GED machines.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance, CMMS, Mechanical/Electrical systems and quality control.
- systems within a manufacturing environment
Competencies – you’re good at
- Able to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.
- High comfort level working in a fast-paced team environment that is constantly changing.
- Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Troubleshooting abilities to analyze problem and provide solutions.
Working conditions
- Physically able to lift between 0 lbs to 50lbs.
- Work primarily in a production facility. The plant environment can be dusty and noisy.
- Move around the plant, maneuver product, and gather information.
- Requires extended periods of sitting and using the telephone.
- Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
- Floors in work area may be slippery during wet weather conditions, have cracks and be uneven.
- Passing forklifts emit gas fumes.
- Tools, supplies and chemicals may contain hazardous materials and emit unpleasant odors.
