About Brucejack Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As Superintendent Engineering, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of sustaining capital projects and engineering support at our Brucejack operation. Your expertise will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with regulatory and design standards. By fostering innovation, guiding your engineering team, and driving continuous improvement, you will play a key role in supporting Newmont’s long-term operational success

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Lead the engineering team to design and deliver capital projects and engineering scope to business needs
  • Ensure compliance with legislated requirements, engineering design standards, Newmont engineering guidelines, investment system requirements, and safety and quality protocols.
  • Provide engineering guidance, mentoring and support to operational teams.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, including leading Safety & Sustainability in Design (SSiD), and Value Improvement Process (VIP) processes.
  • Ensure robust engineering designs and recommendations are prepared to meet performance goals.
  • Collaborate with procurement and execution teams to optimize resources and materials.
  • Interface with other department leads, functions and teams to ensure projects are optimized to operational needs and appropriate support and service is delivered.
  • Identify potential project risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and execute plans to handle these risks effectively throughout the project lifecycle
  • Deliver and distribute regular progress reports, including updates on timelines, budget status, and any issues or risks, to senior management and other key team members
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environment through coaching, feedback, and team development.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) with Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of engineering project management experience, including leadership of multidisciplined teams.
  • Proven success delivering complex sustaining capital and large-scale mining/industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, safety regulations, risk and quality management.
  • Proficiency with project management and engineering software (e.g., Primavera P6, AutoCAD, SAP).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferable.

Your Work Environment

This is a leadership role within our Operations team, focused on sustaining capital project delivery. You will split your time between office-based planning and on-site project execution. The role requires adaptability to changing priorities, strong stakeholder engagement, and hands-on leadership in dynamic mining and industrial environments.

  • Location: Vancouver Office (hybrid; minimum 3 days/week in office).
  • Rotation: Monday to Friday
  • Site Travel: Required as needed, typically once per quarter (remote industrial mining environment).
  • Requirements: Must pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test, and comply with PPE and safety protocols
