Brodflour is hiring a Head Baker to lead our bread program and team. This is a senior management role

We?re looking for a strong bread baker and leader who can take ownership of daily production, lead a team well, and help us continue building a bakery with high standards and a clear point of view.

This is a role for someone who is both hands-on and managerial and has experience in both roles: someone who can step into production, solve problems in real time, hire, coach and develop a team, and bring structure and consistency to our rapidly growing operation.

Fresh milling is central to our work. All our flour is stone milled fresh onsite everyday with grain from Canadian farmers. We?re especially interested in someone who is excited by the technical side of bread baking and the opportunities and challenges that come with working with fresh-milled flour.

In this role, you will:

• Strong professional bread baking experience using commercial mixers, ovens and loaders.
• Experience leading a bakery team
• Deep understanding of fermentation, dough development, and bread production
• Strong troubleshooting skills and sound production instincts
• Excitement about working with fresh-milled flour and the nuances that come with it
• A leader who can be both hands-on and managerial
• Strong communication, accountability, and organizational skills
• Calm under pressure and able to bring structure to a fast-paced environment
• Interest in product development, process improvement, and team development
• Must be comfortable lifting 50lb grain bags. This is essential to be able to assist with milling.
